CamGlen Radio awarded a further five years of broadcasting!

We are pleased to announce that CamGlen Radio has been awarded another 5 year licence by broadcast regulator, Ofcom.

CamGlen Radio has been serving Cambuslang & Rutherglen as a full-time community radio station since 19th March 2015. During this time our programming has developed significantly from our daytime output which provides free advertising for local community groups and charitable organisations, promoting the best in local unsigned music and providing up to date local news and information.

Across our output we also have regular schools programming which is produced and presented by local school pupils and offer a range of specialist programming covering a wide range of niche genres. We have a local history show, community focus shows and even a photography show (on the radio!)

New and emerging artists and bands have the opportunity to come in and perform live on air and since 2018 we have hosted regular CamGlen Radio Presents…. gig nights which give artists the chance to perform in a local venue for a local audience.

The radio station has over 100 volunteers who keep it running, from presenting, operating behind the scenes and taking part in a number of subgroups and committees to ensure the station is achieving its commitments and offering the best for listeners at home.

One in four of our volunteers have some sort of support need and we pride ourselves on being an inclusive radio station for all on air and behind the scenes.

As we enter our next licence we want to remind everyone that we are YOUR radio station, if you have any suggestions or feedback please do get in contact. If you live in Cambuslang or Rutherglen and want to get involved email

Our daytime output supports local artists, if you have any music you want considered email; if you have a news story contact our news team, emailing and to access our Whatson community announcements email
